A trademark is considered in law to be a form of intellectual property. Proprietary rights in relation to a trademark may be established through actual use or through registration of the mark with the trademarks office of a particular jurisdiction.
The owner of a registered trademark may commence legal proceedings for trademark infringement to prevent unauthorized use of that trademark. The owners of common law trademarks may also file suit, but the extent to which they will be able to enforce their rights through trademark infringement proceedings may be limited.
Tsang & Company is a registered trademark agent in Canada. In addition to our trademark registration service, our office also offer a full range of business consulting services which include company incorporation, domain names registration, Internet consulting and intellectual property consulting.
